Nominations Needed

Do you know an Art Educator, an art student, or community member, who recently took the initiative to push through a bold idea, a policy, or a project, to enhance their program or student learning?

If so, we’d like to hear about it!

Take the initiative and nominate a colleague, an educator, a student, a community member, or an organization for an Arizona Art Education Association State Award. We need to ban together, to get recognition for what we do, its time to say “Atta-Boy.” Let the state, the district, our colleagues, our superintendents, our principals, our parents, and our students, know we go above and beyond daily. Nominate your colleague, a community member, an art student, or an art educator that has made a difference and quench that need to be recognized.
As your awards chairperson, I encourage you to look around and start recognizing the impact people have made to the arts. Do you know an art educator who has made a strong impact in your district or neighboring district? Some art educators in small districts deliver the entire K-12 art curriculum on their own. They have no “colleagues” in house that could nominate them. I’m asking your Regional Representatives to recognize that and nominate their people! Some art educators have developed programs that get the community involved in positive ways. Some community members have made a significant difference in supporting the visual arts program. Nominate them and say Atta Boy in one of the most prestigious ways, with a state wide Award. They are an inspiration to us all and deserve to be recognized.
Any AAEA member may nominate, but even non-members can write letters of support for that nominee. Fill out the attached form and send the completed nomination to Deb Engbring via email. Then follow that up with a copy of the nomination form and the rest of the support materials described on the form.

Send to: Debbi Engbring, 5102 N 128th Dr., Litchfield Park, Az 85340.

The due date for nominations and supporting documents is July 30, 2011. The nominations submitted will be considered for the awards ceremony at the annual AAEA Conference.
